Hi guys,
Hopefully someone can help me. The boot will not release when I press the pad on the boot lid. I rang Bavarian and the parts dept asked if my registration lights are still working. They are, so they told me I needed a new micro switch. Got the part and fitted it today.......still no joy! I am wondering is it the power supply to the lower section of the boot as the cd auto changer hasn't worked from I bought the car (about 6 months ago), perhaps it is a coincidence. The interior boot light still works though. The rear wiper also works.
Does anybody know which fuse you would inspect for this section of the car as the fuse diagram is confusing me as to which one is for the boot area?
Any help would be great guys!
hi fuse f37 20amp in passenger compartment fuse box is the fuse for central locking but if thats blown your front doors woudlnt open and lock either. is it just the boot that wont open or all doors. will it open when you flick switch by the electric window and fog light switches is your car a one, cooper, or cooper s
Hi mate! No the doors lock. My car is a mini one (2002). The guy I bought it from has a piece of wire attached to the boot lock and fed it through the gap between the back seats and shelf. If I pull it, the boot opens but I cant open it from the outside using the normal way. It is like a scene frorm 'the great escape' trying to get shopping into the boot ! I don't have a switch for the boot inside the car? The only other thing is to check the wiring of the lock maybe.
Thanks for replying!
After fitting the new actuator, the boot still did not open. I took it to a spark and apparently when the actuator blew, the control unit suffered so he had to put a relay in. The boot now works!
