Do all Mini Diesels sound like a bag of spanners

We've just sollected ours it's a 1.6 on a 59 plate and it sounds very agricultural and un refined compared to my Golf TDI.

Are they all the same as it's the first one we viewed

Cheers

Sure you haven't got a petrol R56 Cooper S instead?

Seriously though, I'd have a search on Youtube for Cooper D engine sounds or reviews to get an idea.

My 1.6 Dooper is somewhat agricultural sounding, it's the old engine. Newer ones aren't quite so bad I don't think. The older ones get much better fuel consumption though.

You cant hear it much inside with your HK stereo system on and windows up surely though?
The petrol ones are nice and refined sounding, at least mine is, except for the popping and crackle from the twin exhaust of course.
