Hi
My daughter ought a cooper s 09. Last year £12600. Now she wants to sell and get more Eco car. It's on finance with a final large payment. One dealer offered £8500 on part x. That seem awful to me. So basically they would be paying off finance and she is left with no equity. It's a no win situation. Anyone been in similar position? Thanks
Looking on Parkers a dealer PX on an 09 Mini Cooper S, don't know your spec, so put 3 door with Chilli pack.
An 09 plate is £7935.00, a 58 plate is £7705.00.
They will probably put it up £10k on the forecourt, so they are probably being a bit generous. But it is a bitter sweet pill to swallow, always is after 12 months.
i would hold onto it. She should of gone with a cooper really or maybe a one. I learnt from expeirence buying an expensive to run car and then chopping it in after 2 years can leave you in negative equity for years that is carried on through any future agreement. It took me 5 years to get rid of mine!
Keep it! Changing so early will lose such a large amount of money she will never get it back through lower mpg and car tax. Plus it is huge fun to drive a Cooper S .
Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs
Never buy a car for the short term on impulse or switch early to try to save money.....it will cost.......as soon as you drive out the showroom you will loose money.
