MIN tlc

Hello,

I've recently bought a used 2012 Cooper S and noticed in the handbook that the previous owner had purchased the "mini tlc" servicing package.

It says on the certificate that the package is transferable to the next owner, however, is there anything I need to do to complete the transfer? Do I need to let the Mini dealer know I now own the vehicle or do they have a record that my car has the tlc package??

Any help gratefully received.

PS. Loving the Cooper S.........Only 1 problem, keeping the wife out of it

I'm fairly certain that if you take it to the selling dealer for service, they have the record of the "Mini TLC" program. However, when you call for the appointment, have your VIN available, so they can check it in their computer. Then, when you go in for service, bring your certificate and have your service advisor check to be sure it's been transferred over to your name. I don't believe there's anything else you need to do; unless you have any questions about what's covered and for how long.
If you take it to a dealer, other than the original selling dealer, ask them if there's anything else you need to do other than what's already been said. It's a Mini program, not just a certain dealer program; so, it should be honored at any authorized Mini dealership.

When I took my secondhand MINI to the MINI Dealer they had the full service TLC history from previous owner on their computer and did the next free service without question.

Thanks Guys - The dealer I got it from have a good reputation and I don't think they'll mess me a around. I just wanted to be sure there was nothing I needed to do.

We had it on our 2008 when we bought it in 2009 and there was nothing we had to do. I've since used it twice! Its linked totally to the car and not the owner.
