R53 Xenon Bulbs

Hello All,

The right Xenon Bulb is not working on my 2002 R53. Trying to look online for replacements and checked Halfords and they are charging £89 per bulb? Is this right or can you get them for cheaper?

On some forums people have suggested swopping them over to check if its the ballast that is broken and not the bulb? Should this be done just incase?

Thanks

Hi Challo

You can get the D2S xenon bulbs from about £32 off the internet. If you are removing the bulbs I think you need to disconnect the battery and leave them for a while just to make sure you do not get a shock from the system. Also make sure you do not touch the bulbs with your bare hands as any oils from your skin can cause them to fail early. I would try swapping them first just to confirm the fault is with the bulb.
Hope this helps

Pat

Thanks Pat.

When people talk about 'ballast' is this the unit the bulb fix into? Do these tend to break then?
