USB Interface

Hello,

I don't have a smartphone so have copied some music onto a 4GB USB Memory Stick and plugged it into the USB port. This works fine for what I need.

However, the USB Stick has a red LED that shows when it's powered-up and this doesn't go out when I turn off the cars ignition. Will the power to the USB port switch off after a certain amount of time or will it remain powered-up constantly. If the latter, is it likely to run the battery flat if I leave it constantly connected.

New owner so appols if this has been covered before. I did do a quick search before posting this but couldn't find an answer!

i wouldn't worry about it at all! Its a tiny LED light and will draw the same as an alarm bulb... If you left it a month or so then perhaps but not overnight!

There are other lights (e.g/ ignition lock) that remain on after the car is locked but go out later. They come back on when you unlock in the morning fooling people into thinking they remain on overnight. Sneak up on your Mini 10 minutes after locking it and peak inside, you may well find this light has gone out.

I checked mine after few minutes, the light went off.

This is good and bad if u wanna leave something charging
