DIY Buying 2009 Mini Cooper

I am very excited to be purchasing a 2009 Mini Cooper (not S model). I'm a bit nervous now as I have heard complaints of roof leaking, transmission and carbon build up in the motor at around 60-70,000 kms. This vehicle is only at 50,000kms so I was just wondering what I can look forward to dealing with if I do purchase. Can anyone give me any advice about these apparent complaints I have read about online? It is scaring me, but I truly love this car!
Thanks in advance!

I think carbon build up is only a problem on 2nd Gen Cooper S models.

Hey,

See this thread for my research on it -

in short with a 'justa' your ok - even the flywheel is a solid item (not a dual mass!) Clutch life is an issue but other than that they seem a lot more reliable than their turbo counterparts.
