Gearbox differences? Hey Guys,
Wierd one here, have a '57 plate 'justa' cooper, but have on borrow a '12 plate one.
The gearbox on this one looks to be massively longer than on my coop, to the point there in 6th, you are doing around 85 clicks per hour at 3000RPM, whilst in the coop it's 70 clicks per hour at 3000RPM. As far as i'm aware there should be no difference in the box? Did BMW fit a longer box to newer cars?
Also it has NIL written in the cost box on the tax disk, but checking i can't see a mini that doesn't pay road tax?
Managed 42MPG mixed driving in the one, which is way better than i get in the coop - i'm blaming the shorter box for this! |
