Clubman spare.

I am changing my Mini Clubman diesel from run flats to standard tyres. The dealer lent me a set and the difference is huge.

Question, under the floor there is a polystyrene insert containing the jack, wheel brace etc. If this was removed there is what appears to be enough space for a spare wheel. I was under the impression that minis could not carry a spare. Will one fit in here or not?

Cheers

Most non-Cooper S Minis can carry a spacesaver spare under the boot floor:

I believe the Clubman can have a spacesaver fitted in the space you describe as other owners have done this.

Update

Ok, bit of an update. Just spoken to mt local Mini dealer, Sycamore Mini Peterborough. They do a space saver wheel and tyre for it at £110.00 + VAT, seems bloody expensive to me.
Interestingly though, they told me that it will not fit into the circular well thats under the boards in the floor at the back of my Clubman. This poses the question, why the hell is this recess there in the first place? He could not answer.
So, has anyone with a Clubman put a wheel of any description into this well under the rear floor?

Thanks

Er, you can get a space savers spare for the clubman I had one with mine, it may be that the one the dealer is looking at is for the saloon, as this fits under the car it may be bigger?

Don't necessarily believe what Dealers tell you......many of them tell owners you can't even get a spacesaver spare for a Mini!

However this is what the Clubman parts listing says:

Not for the end customer, only for
service vehicles and dealer service. No
possibility of accommodating a compact
spare wheel in the vehicle.

Ok, this explains why some dealers say it is not available, or that it don't fit. £399.00 a pair though? Think I will try to find a cheaper one!
