My 2006 mini cooper s broke down the other day÷ the minigarge at fortitude valley said tody it needs the head to come off to fing out what foreign body is present in cylinder no 1. They said it willbethree gran but if the piston and other bits are damaged it will cost me 11000 for a new engine. Does anyone have any advice...?

You could always investigate buying a good used engine from a breakers if a complete new engine is required?

The locals here recommend Bris motor works 3394 4922. Wouldn't hurt to see what they think.

Chances are even if it's cactus there might be some 2nd hand engines around. There's always someone wrecking one somewhere.
