R53 JCW vs R53 S

Hi guys,
Just sold my r50 One which had 4-1 janspeed manifold + decat, pipercross cai and bluefin superchip. It was surprisingly rapid for all that was modified but the power didn't come in until you got it above 4k, which made acceleration on hills interesting if you were accelerating from say 2k........nothing.........nothing.......nothing... ...4k bang!
I am looking into possibly buying an r53 Cooper S or a JCW. I have heard different reports on mpg. My tuned One was getting 280-300 miles if I was lucky from £50, what about the JCW?
I have a few questions on the JCW tuning kit. My understanding is that the upgrades are:
modified inlet and outlet ports on the cylinder head,
bigger supercharger,
better injectors and plugs,
additional air intake flap that opens at around 4k.
What is the JCW like to drive compared to the S, obviously it will be quicker but every day how is it? The suspension and brakes, clutch and gearbox are unchanged? Also the manifold is the same but what about the cat back?
I am asking myself if it is better to buy a JCW or, buy a Cooper S and have a combination of sprintex charger and reduced pulley bolted on as people seem to be getting good results from this?
Any thoughts and experience on the matter would be great guys.
Thanks

There were two different JCW Engine Tuning Kits for the 1st Gen MCS ...

You can buy a base 1st Gen MCS and fit a supercharger reduction pulley, colder plugs and smaller belt to attain close to JCW horsepower. A cam, larger fuel injectors and remap will give even more horsepower.

I have a cooper S with a great spec. (See it in the new members bit under introducing my mini.) it's got over 220 bhp and at a steedy drive I see 300 miles for £50 no problem, until I put my foot down
