Has anyone ever got above 40mpg through 'normal' driving? I have a 57 plate and even driving like a granny following the gear shift indicator I've never got above 40. I didn't buy this car because it was good on fuel but its disappointing not to get better than 40. I read recently that manufacturers have been very cunning when deriving the mpg figures. Tricks like disconnecting the altinator and using Eco low grip tyres pumped up to the max!
