best tyres for r56 MCS under £100?

I currently have run flat dunlop 205/45r17 but want to change to non-runflats. I can't bring myself to spend £140 per tyre so what's the best for under £100? I'm looking at the Falken ze914 tyres on allnewtyres

I'm not a fountain of knowledge on tyres, the only thing I would say is lease do not get die young skid masters. Always spend the right money on tyres and breaks, in my mind you always need the best to stop the car. It's one thing accelerating fast ( in a lovely cooper s ) but you also need to stop in a hurry safely too.

i don't think a £100 performance tyre is going to be significantly worse braking than a £140 tyre. It's still a good tyre.

Avon Zz3s are pretty good and shouldn't set you back much more that 80 quid a corner in your size

+1 on the avons. I have a set and they are great. National tyres will sell you 4 for £360 via eBay. That's including fitting. But be aware, the last time I had 2 fronts put on they told me that I needed new front pads and disks. Absolute rubbish!

They do like to sell you more if they can at National but if you can put up with the BS they give you then you get quite good multi buy discount. I have Avons on the back of mine and would buy again but won't be next time as I want 215 40 18 tyres and I can't seem to find ZZ3s in that size.

I don't know why they are cheaper using the national tyres eBay store. But I'm not complaining. The avons give good grip in both dry and wet, are much much quieter than the run flats and my front pair lasted 11000 miles which is pretty good since I drive enthusiastically. I wouldn't have anything else.
