| MINI2 Senior Derelict | I get the same. I'm 6'3" and 235lbs and I get the same comments from people. "How the heck do you fit in that car?" I have to explain to them that I have around 4-5 inches headroom. My last car, a Nissan Maxima (MINI to a Maxima co-incidence?) I only had 1" thanks to the sunroof. My MINI rocks, first car I've owned that my head doesn't skim the roof. Paul |

| MINI2 Newbie | Just read this a few months ago... Nationally, the average male height is 5' 9". The average female height is 5' 4". They even broke down how people tend to rate against the average regionally. Interesting that the Japanese cars seem to be tailored to the averages. The MINI seems able to accomodate any- and everyone. (Just picked ours up last night! Offline | The headroom in the MINI is what made the car possible for me. I'm 6' 2" but long in body, so there are very few new cars in which I'm comfortable (none of the BMWs for example-Are you listening BMW?). I had been following the news of the new MINI for at least a year (and was on a waiting list) before I finally got to sit in one at the LA Auto Show back in January 2002. As much as I loved the idea of the new MINI I never expected I would actually be able to fit in one--boy was I wrong! Ahhhh! Wonderful precious headroom. My MCS is 4 days away from making port in California and I am getting so excited I'm ready to bust! Peace to all. |

Offline | Re: Just read this a few months ago... I got into a great argument once on how averages are really useless to engineers. Its amazing how difficult but how essential it is to design for the entire target demographic. MINI did a great job in almost every respect. (I still wish the plastic in the footwell didn't catch my shoes so I could drive with my feet vertical, but whatever...) Congrats on getting your car by the way. Enjoy the fun while it lasts - since you know, it'll last the entire time you own the car. Magic 8-ball was correct. All be in awe of Magic 8 ball. |

Offline | I've always wanted to own a small, agile car... but never found one I could fit in. My MINI fits me like a glove, just enough room in all the right places. The only place I ever feel a tight fit is in the footwell when I'm wearing some of my bigger dress shoes... sixfoot6 Dark Silver "S" - White Top - Alloy Wheels - Sports Package - Premium Package - status: In Search of Twisties |

| MINI2 Master (Oh Wow!) | And people say to me, "oh my! Aren't you too big for a mini?" People think of the mini as being small (ok it is!) and a rival for something like a punto, corsa etc. (it costs double the bloody money!!). Narrow minded pricks. Offline | 7'0" in height, longer torso. Indeed, when my mini arrives, it will be for all purposes, a three seater, as no one will ever be able to sit behind me. I take the track all the way back, then forward about an inch or two, recline slightly and am perfect. I was very impressed how in a Mini, my legs arent contorted around the steering wheel and center column as I find in a Civic or other small vehicle. My legs run free to the pedals, so I expect a relaxing driving for the first time from a small vehicle -- Ian Ian Poulin Arlington Massachusetts |

Offline | 6'1"+ It isn't a question of hieght but a question of shoe size! My size 13 walking shoes make the foot rest virtually usless.? How about a poll on that? ![]() Trust not the heart of a man for whom old clothes, and the Mini, are not venerable! |

Offline | Size (American) 18-2E here. As with even my Dodge Ram pickup, I need to drop my heel back a few inches and pedal at a touch; even though, I have about a 1/8th of an inch clearance to work with -- enough that I quickly learned and grew accustomed to it during my test drive. Indeed though, my foot size did determine my purchase of the CVT Cooper; else I would have purchased the Cooper S. Offline | my dad came to visit this last weekend -- he's 6'4". He was VERY impressed with the room in the MINI. What impressed him even more though was the fact that he actually had to scoot the seat up one notch from the very back position so he could mash down the clutch all the way. He said there was more headroom in my Cooper S than in his Jeep Grand Cherokee .-- Jessica my car: 2002 Mini Cooper S (Pure Silver / Black) his car: 1999 VW Golf Wolfsburg ed. (Black) |

Offline | I'm 6'4" and have back problems. One of the first things I did when I got my mini was drive 320 miles for a holiday Wales. I felt fresh as a daisy when I got there and could have easily jumped right back in the car and gone all the way back home again, just for a laugh! Mini is easily the most comfortable car I have had the pleasure to drive, loadsa headroom, legroom, comfy driving position, the lot. I love it. ![]() It's ALIVE!!!! it's blue, it's cute, and it's mine |

Offline | I'm still not used to sitting in the car (1300 miles). I find myself hunching over. Then by the time I'm at my destination I remember I can sit up straight without hitting my head. Oh this is a great car, and improves your posture (that could be a slogan for Mini). Of course I still have to explain to people that yes I can fit in the car, no the seat was not removed. 2003 MCS DS/DS Mine 11/25/2002 |
