Hello! i know that a lot of members like to post their "i got my Mini!" stories, so here is mine. I had ordered a CR/White Cooper S early august, and was expecting deliver March 2003 at the earliest. it has Premium, Sport and Cold packages. the tuesday before last, i was flying home to NY and that night, we checked the answering machine. the sales manager at the dealer had called stating they had 3 for immediate pick up if i was interested. the first was missing options, so no go. the second was the exact thing i ordered, plus navigation so yes, i was interested (excited that i might get my Mini) and the third was a totally tricked out überMini, too much money. So i called back 4 hours later to see the second one, only to be told by the dealer "that one sold an hour ago". and i was so sad! but i figured not to worry about it, just leave your name on the list, and everything will be cool come March.
Enter my cousins. They wanted to test drive a Mini upon hearing that i had one ordered. we walked into the dealer on Saturday Nov. 30. while waiting for the S to get back from a test drive, we went into the service bay to check out an original Mini. in the far corner of the service bay, was a nice Indi Blue/White bits
MCS. i asked the salesman "is that the Indi blue that was sold on wednesday?" and he said "no, i think that ones in for repair....but...it does look awfully shiny...." so he went over, and the window sticker was on the seat! so he asked his sales manager, and apparently 30 minutes before i went with my cousins, the car had become available and they were currently calling people to see it. i said "SOLD!!!!" on the spot. Monday Dec. 2 the paperwork was all done, and i had the car!
Moral of the story? family is not always bad to have around :-) I have them to thank for my getting the Cooper, and i owe them all rides. I have pics of "Skittles" up on my webpage. Go to
