United-Kingdom Cherished Mini JCW - No Oil!

Well I bought a 2008 Mini JCW 2 weeks ago from a Mini main dealer (Barons Hindhead) Driving it round a corner and the oil pressure light came on, so got it home (5mins) and checked the oil. Followed the procedure and the oil didn't even register on the (rubbish) dipstick! After putting 2.5L of oil in its was about halfway up the dipstick.

I ended up taking it back for them to check it under the warranty and they've found no problems through diagnostics or sounds but who knows how much damage there could be! The service department have said that it was probably just human error that the oil was low...

Anyone got any advice for me when I pick it up tomorrow? Im not really happy that i've spent extra money on a "Cherished Mini" when they haven't even checked the oil, surely one of the first checks.

Has anyone got a list of the "checks" they do?

If it's a cherished Mini it will have a years warranty so I wouldn't
worry too much.
However, it's good housekeeping to check oil, water etc yourself
on a regular basis.
Nobody should love your Mini more than you!

Very surprised at that! Barons have always been fantastic - I've used them for years (I live 10 mins walk from them!)

In my experience I would think its an honest mistake that it was low, but I would suggest keeping a close eye on the level in case there's a leak.
