2003 Cooper S plug under dash?

Hi

Found a plug under drivers side dash on a length of cable looks like it runs up behind the radio. It looks like a cat 5 network socket like one on a wireless broadband router. Any ideas.

Also it's a one owner full history 44k on the clock but the clutch is heavy to push down. Could it be on its last legs?

Also as we drive it's got a knocking noise from the back, on rough roads. Just can't find it. Sounds like its in the boot but checked that already.

Cheers

No idea on the other bits - sorry, but could the knocking be the exhaust loose?

A heavy clutch pedal is typical of 1st Gen MCS models.

Cheers for that, I wondered about the exhaust although it feels tight. Heat shield maybe if there is one

Knocking noise from rear of car

My tailgate rattles when driving on anything other than smooth tarmac.

I had same on rattle on my 09 Hardtop, those rubber screw in bumpers that are on the rear hatch (if there still there) keeps the noise down. I lost one somewhere. So I purchased another one! I check them every once in a while to make sure they not unscrewing them selves again
