Cooper s 2005

Hi everybody just bought myself a cooper s 2005, and there is a small black box in the upper left hand corner of my windscreen. I was thinking maybe the pervious owner had it as a insurance black box, but really not sure there are no markings on the box just plain black. any ideas anyone...??

It very well could be a box frm a insurance company.
Weird as they normally try to hide it.
Hs the car got a custom satnav or hands free. What stereo has it got? Stock?

Hey thanks for the response, no there is no sat nav installed, it came with a kenwood head unit but not the standard bmw unit. It is very confusing as you are right i always though they hide them in the engine bay.

Just google and yes some insurance company's stick it to the window screen.
Disconnect it and make Sure everything works. It could be a radio booster but I highly doubt it. If its all fine you should probably leave it disconnected. Might be good to remove it incase of battery issues

Hi ya

Looks like the GPS for the little black box for insurance company

It could also be a DAB antenna

Yeah i am thinking it must just be for the insurance of the old owner, the headunit does not have DAB. I tried to unplug it but no luck runs under the headliner so a job for this weekend. Thanks for the input.
