Australia tyres ???

Hi Mini- aniacs
I currently drive a cooper s with 205/40/18 runflats but just wondering if anyone has any suggestion for a cheaper tyre. Anon runflat tyre?. Of course my mini will still look awsome but its expensive to change after every corner . My friend suggested I try 215/35/18 non run flats as it may be a cheaper option of tyre. Although he is not sure if it will rub against or cause rubbing?
Does anyone have any ideas?

DIY 205 vs 215??????

Usually if you go one width wider 205 to 215 across the tread it's safe and wont rub........ BUT, the Mini is tight in the front end and you really have to be careful. Other than that backyard off the top of my head assumption I really can't give you any hard core numbers or stats!

A 215/35-18 tire will be 13.5mm less in overall diameter than a 205/40-18 tire and won't rub with OEM wheels on stock suspension. Bear in mind that these tires will have less sidewall which makes them more susceptible to pot hole damage and leave 6.75mm more wheel gap.

I use Hankook Ventus V12 evo k110 in 215/40 size. This makes the gearing slightly higher so your speedo reads accurately. They give a little bit better protection to the wheels due to width and sidewall increases. Best of all they look good. The Hankook does well in comparative testing not far short of the very best at average prices here in the UK. Alongside Koni FSD dampers they have good ride quality in dear old pothole GB.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs
