Rear View Mirror Cover

I have a union flag on my rear view mirror that I would like to remove in a 2007 convertible.

How do you take it off? Its not an auto dimming mirror.

Secondly I would like to get that one custom painted, has anyone else on here done that? Any tips?

I'd like to have one like that. Did it come on some from factory? Look up custom paint shops in your area, motorcycle paint shops do great work. Good luck.

I bought the mini used and the cover was on it already. They retail for $60ish online. Only options I have found is a union flag which I want no part of or a chequered flag. I would love to have something really different

Not sure on removal, but there should be a cover or not to cover some screws holding it up. Unscrew the screws to remove, and any possible wiring. The back cover just probably pops off with the gentle twist of a flat screwdriver. Just take your time and try not to damage the mirror and covers. Good luck.

Finding a painter shouldn't be hard. Or give it a try yourself. If you don't damage it would you sell it to me? Is it the gray one? Why don't you want any part of the Union Jack flag?

I am Scottish living in the US. I have a hard enough time with people calling me English, Irish, Australian, South African without having a flag on my car that makes people think I am English.

I looked for a Saltire one online but couldnt find it so I figured I could have a local artist do some work.

HeHe I laughed at your flag comment, of course I understand. Im Scottish also. It's all good to me though. I would be fine if the Union Jack was on my Mini if I bought used.

Hell, at least ya have a Mini!

I agree though from another post, Custom Motocycle shops usually d have great air brush guys

I understand why you want it removed. But I'm half American half British living in Germany with an Austrian last name. So a mini seems perfect. Lol. With the UJ of course.

It was just on there with adhesive, after much gentle persuasion it came off unharmed. Now i need to find someone to customize it!
