Hi ya

Believe it or not there the same camshaft
What are you looking for from a cam higher end power or better mid range.
Cat cams are very good 1320 sell them I think most guys are using cat cam, Newman, crower.
It just depends on your budget and what you want from your cam. Have you done anything else engine wise.

to be honest i was recently rebuilding the engine and snapped the sproket guide pin on the end of the cam and was having problems getting hold of cams for a cooper, so i thought why not uprate them !! do you know of any website or possibly anybody selling a set of cams or where i could just get some standard ones as want her back on the road !! plus nothing else engine wise just manifold and de-cat at the moment.

Hi ya

There are a few good cams out there depending on budget and what you want from a cam
These are the most used one I would say there are others think piper etc

Orranje
Newman Camshaft - Orranje - New MINI Performance & Styling Products

Lohan
lohen.co.uk - Track & Fast Road Performance for your New Mini - Online Shop
lohen.co.uk - Track & Fast Road Performance for your New Mini - Online Shop

1320
Catcams Camshaft - R50,R53. MINI - Servicing - Repairs - Tuning - Parts - Spares

PRS
Crower Nitrosticks Camshafts Crower Nitrosticks NS1 BMW mini Camshaft R50, R52, R53 - Crower Nitrosticks Camshafts from PRS Racing UK

Some cam companies will want your old cam back as a core, a thing to consider is to get the maximum out of the cam it will need remapping. Some of your cams require this as part of the install or you end up with lumpy ideal etc.
but there are cams that will run and give good power with out a remap.
But first of all you need to work out what you want as in mid range power or high end power

Just be carefully with the w10 engine they can be pushed but the internals are not great
And make shore you have a nice free flowing air filter.
Another mod to do is to use a cooper s throtal body the a few mm bigger

Hope this help your quest :-)
