Which to join? Do we have members on here from these clubs? Are they just full of oily faced bores? Do they even welcome us with MINI's?

Hi Hat,Both clubs you mention do welcome the MINI

and I do believe we have members on MINI2 that belong to these clubs.

I think that both monsta and I are both members of the Mini Cooper Register and the Southern Mini Owners Club. (Mr ding is a SMOCer too).

The SMOC is pretty easy going about the MINI. They even have a complement of Smarts welcomed as members!

I am a member of the club but have found that when ever i email them a question or quiery they never reply, but they do have a few MINI on there books, i would prefer to be a member of a club that is mostly MINIS but not one available

Yes the Mini Cooper Register Club, im not saying your a bad club at all because your news letter is great.

I think that very few clubs are truly MINI-friendly as there will always be someone who doesn't like the MINI, and their voice tends to be louder. "Tolerated" is probably a better word.

I joined the British Mini Club a few years back, but didn't renew. Although outwardly friendly, when it boiled down to it I felt that in spite of their name they were really a regional club, i.e. West Midlands. Also, they seem to be a bit more of a business rather than a genuine club.

What do you get out of joining something like the Mini Cooper register???.... apart from a newsletter.

There do seem to be a few MINIs involved in Mini based clubs north of the border but I do get the feeling they aren't exactly welcomed with open arms - I could be wrong....

Somebody prove me wrong... go on.....

I joined the MCR, they have a monthly magazine with sections dedicated to the different variations of the Cooper Marque.

They usually have stands at shows either nationally or organised by the different regions.

They all also have regional club meetings.

They have members looking after the individual registers, the guy who looks after the MINI Register is extremely helpful.

They are looking for new members all the time I think the MINI register is creeping up slowly.
