| | Cooper S Convertible Top Question
I have a 2010 Cooper S Convertible and there are small rubber/plastic grommets at the bottom of the convertible top inside the trunk space (behind the rear seats) that fasten against the inside metal of the car to keep the top tight where the top material meets the metal behind the rear windows. Well one of the grommets broke and it's physically sewn into the top material. I called a Mini dealer and short of wanting to replace the top, they recommended finding a convertible top repair shop. Has anyone had this problem and what did you do? Seems odd to have to spend $2,000 to replace the entire top over a plastic part that probably costs $5. Thanks!
