Unhappy Convertible Roof wont work

I have an 04 Convertible, before winter the roof was struggling to close, we managed to manually close it and now it is spring/summer i went to open it and there is nothing coming from the roof. The windows button is working perfectly however the roof ones are getting nothing.

My first step was for a mechanic friend to test all my fuses and they were all fine
We then checked the parcel shelf was in right position and it is
We then moved onto checking if there was enough hydraulic fluid and its fine
We did a quick inspection of the framework which was only rebuilt afew years ago before i bought it and we could see no cracks or issues
We then thought what about the switch so i bought a new one and still we have nothing.
The mechanic friend then ran power through the motor and it was working.

i am stumped and would appreciate some help as i know dealers are very expensive

Hi ya

When you say you checked the fuses
which ones did you check there is a fuse box the footwell and also the engine bay both these locations have fuses for the roof, also there are fuses on the underside of the engine bay fuse box.

I will find a link for fuses for you

Hope this helps
