Electrical issue possible bcm?

Hi guys.

New to this forum, I have a cooper s on a 53, and the central locking doesn't seem to be working well. It works on the remote but the door pins don't pop up, the passenger one hasn't done it for a while but now the drivers doesn't pop up. I also came back to my car after work to find my sunroof open when I didn't touch it (maybe unrelated).... My pan roof as also struggled to close last year but some of the time works fine.....I'm thinking it's the body control module if it is I can get one on eBay for 65 quid but do they need re coding? Any thought people?
Thanks x

Hi ya

If the door lock pins are not popping up it could be the door actuator or that there getting trapped on the trim,
I had a funny fault where they would machine gun then lock it was to do with who ever had the door trims off had bent the pins.

I would also look at you rear view mirror to, that's where the remote sensor is for your key fob they do fail

If you think your BCU is playing up do a reset on it first. disconnect the battery for 30 min
Neg the poss then to reconnect poss then neg the ECM and BCU can get cranky worth trying

If you think the BCU has had it contact these guys they will fix it and no coding required
If you buy from ebay you will need to take an image from yours and recode yours which will mean recoding and syncing the ews pluss keys ect

BBA reman. ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, MFD and catalytic converters

Do you have a spare key fob to use for a while

Hope this helps
