Jcw question!

Hi all, I'm new to this site.. I own a r56 2012 Mini Cooper s
And a 2012 r56 jcw (il add photos later on)
I've noticed that I have a red stripe over my rev gauge and I hve no idea what it is for + after the 8000 rpm sign I have a blank lamp spot with I have been told is for peak warning but it doesn't lid up any answer to those things?
Thanks!

The red stripe as you show it on your picture is for the alarm, it pulses when its active after you lock the car.
Its all in the drivers hand book which you supposed to read and understand before using the car, as they say.

Standard in the UK but yours is not a UK car though is it? It might have the red lens on the tacho as its standard part, but your country spec might not have the alarm system installed as standard fitment thats why, you need to find out from the dealers the as built spec for you car as to whether it supposed to be fitted or was an option and so was never installed?
