Corrosion of Window Regulators

Hi guys,

I have had my 07 S in at MINI for a few issues.

One of which is causing me concern and anger.....

I have just been informed that the Window Regulators need changed as they are corroded. - This surprise surprise isnt covered by the AUC Warrenty.

Anyone else had any similar problems with corrosion on strange parts of the car or advice - ps they are quoting £300 for the parts (not including labour).

I am angry as i cant understand how a 7 year old car can have corrosion and I have only been the owner for 7 months.

Crisis over - JKC have said they will foot the bill as I have only had the car a short length of time.

Happy Customer.

They usually corrode because the door outer window glass to door top wiper seal isnt keeping the rainwater out as much as it should either because its not pressed up against the glass properly or its come partly out of place or its just perished and worn out.
Of course if the car is always left outside permanently it doesnt help especially in Winter as it probably never has time to dry out.
I always remove the door trim and give the door a good spray around with waxoyl when I first get the car and then things in there stay like new and also dont seize up.
