So where are all the Canadian launch editions. I saw #11 in the Halifax cronicle herald last week, for sale 26,000.00 if I recall correctly. It had 19,000 km on it. I don't know about the rest of you but I put mine up for the winter. I put it away the end of October. It willbe back out the first week of May, weather permitting.

#182 here. A bunch more are on this site, some like you have already ditched them for S's, others are waiting for their S to arrive but I'll be driving mine for some time unless special circumstances come into play.

I get the idea that I may have an early MCS, how do you know for sure? The only way I have been told is to contact mini by phone. Thanks!

I'm with Harry on this one - I'm keeping my Launch Edition AND driving it through the winter (cars are meant for driving, after all). But I think I'll leave the rally driving to Harry.

There were no launch edition MCS cars. To find out if you have an early one you'd probably have to call in with your VIN.

The Canadian Launch Edition Coopers are a limited set of 500 (though for all I know half of the 2002's sold were probably launch editions). They have the number inscribed on the tachometer -- see my personal gallery for a photo. They arrived in April of last year, which is when I got mine.

So does that mean I read my Mini wrong? I am seeing april 2002 for the build date on my MCS...thanks for the help guys!

No, doesn't mean you are reading your build date wrong. You could well have the first one but since they didn't make a launch edition for the MCS it won't show.

My Launch Edition Cooper was built in February 2002, and delivered in April.
