Offline | Discounts/ UK only. I bought my cooper about 9 months ago, not a whiff of a discount. Is it still the same ? Anyone got a story to tell about how much they haggled, what they got, maybe the dealers name ? Low APR's freebies discount anoything will do. CHILLI RED, CHILLI PACK, MAGNEX & PIPERCROSS BAGS OF FUN gone now but not forgotten, an s next time ? |

![]() MINI2 Master | Exactly the same. One of my mates works at the local BMW dealership and tells me that it costs almost as much to produce a Mini as a three series. Obviously the Mini's are cheaper (retail) so the dealers have no/very little room for maneouver on discounts, trade-in's, low finance deals etc. At least you know that the price you see advertised is the price you'll have to pay! |

Offline | At present its the simple economics of supply and demand. MINI can't keep up with demand, although (for UK cars) waiting times are starting to drop. I conditioned myself to see the TLC as the discount in the car. I'm sure that margins are tight on the MINI but is any dealer really going to tell you otherwise!! I find it hard to believe that the MINI costs more to produce than a 3 series....if that is the case BMW must be making a killing on them! Regards Christopher |

Offline | Perhaps the prices are beginning to soften. I ordered a MINI One last week. Went in clutching a price obtainable through a bank - £120 off. Dealer wouldn't match price but would throw in front and rear mudflaps, rubber mats and a model of a MINI. Salesman did mention something about the shirt off his back. Whether all this materialises we'll have to wait and see. morrisminiminor |

Offline | Prime the dealers for freebies, and milk them for all you can get BEFORE you give them the money! We've done nicely for free stuff, and matching APR of banks. No discount on the 'sticker' price, but it's all the same at the end of the day. ![]() There aint no party like my nana's tea party |

Offline | Well..... ordered our Cooper Green with N V. Went in with a small budget and after all the extra's I am a few hundred short of the 16K mark.... Dealer was very good. In comparisson with Mini Heathrow whose quote for the exact spec. came out nearly a grand more due to some problem on their system and the salesman wasn't as good as that of the current dealer. . I.... well the missy managed to haggle the TLC pack thrown in...... hard deal for the saleman giving 100 squids. But the way we saw, it adds up in the long run so we accepted and I have been banned from going back to the dealer until the car arrives in mid-march by her indoors. The last upgrade was with the Climate control after the members here sugested that its a good resale extra. When I went it to sign the extra off i fell in love with the clear rear lights but the bank manager couldn't squeeze another £320 so will wait until we have the car and add it on myself for £140. They looked a treat on the all Black Cooper I saw at the showroom. Coming back to the question though!!!! yep I got £100 pounds off(TLC Pack)... not much, but after all the service cost that we would pay for.... u tell me ![]() May try a freebie key chain / model when I collect..... fingers crossed ![]() Does my @rse look big in this broom broom |

Offline | Mine was an ex demo and it took a fair bit of haggling to get any money off of the asking price. The dealer didn't want to put mats in the car until I realised (after visiting MINI2) that they should have had them in anyway as part of the Salt package. Apart from that i got a MINI keyring, and the fact that the dealer forgot to charge me for the mudflaps and fitting meant that I got those free as well I felt a little short changed at the time as they were so tight with 'extras' but after reading of similar experiences, it appears we did quite well.
