Just been informed that from week 10 build onwards MINI's will come with a second remote key, instead of a second key with no remote.

This is certainly good news.

From week 10 they will also have the brake pad wear warning light.

Thats good news Paul. Perhaps they've heard people moaning on MINI2

Is there any increase in price to cover this? I believe they increased the base price in the USA to cover the extra cost of an additional remote key.

If you don't get it I'd really try hard to get the dealer to through one in FOC.

If your car is being collected 7/3 it would probably be built in Feb which is only upto week 8 - so probably not

I don't know, borderline. My Cooper S is due March 14th and I've scraped in with these options.

Your dealer should be able to tell you which build week your car is.

Checked with the dealer this afternoon, My MINI is due for building March week 10. Should get the 2nd remote key. Chuffed about that

In the U.S. car prices were raised for the 2003 models.

Did MINI raise the price for all 2003's or just for the U.S.???

My 2003 Cooper, del. 12/2002, came with 2 full-function keys and one plastic emergency key.

For the raised prices they claimed additional things with the car...I find it quite odd that they wait till week 10 to give you the value for the money they are taking.

Picked up my November '02 build MCS on 1/3/03, with 2 remote keys, one plastic spare. One of the remote keys has the chrome logo inset, the other is all black.

Just picked up my car today, it was created in December, just like rfinprc, i got 2 remote keys and one wallet key.

I should have highlighted further that that is UK information (hence the UK flag).

The US has had a second remote key (and price hike) since the '2003' year model started.

Delivered 12/2002: I got two full remote keys and one plastic, but but neither remote key had the chrome logo inset.

How does the brake pad warning work? Is it a timed/mileage thing just like the brake fluid and oil change intervals?
