Waiting Time/List for MINI

How long should I have to wait for a MINI assuming (for example) I ordered it today?

How have other owners approached the deal if they have something to trade-in (as it we're talking months surely their existing car is depreciating in the intervening period).

Any comments warmly received...

Martin

If you pick the right dealership, about 45 days for a cooper S, and a little less for a cooper. This is from ordering date to delivery date.

It depends on the dealer and the model.

Last time I asked my dealer (December) they said they were 2/3 months for ONE & Cooper and 6 for the S.

I got a trade in offer from my dealer based on how much they would get for the car after the three months wait for my ONE to arrive. Consider selling your current car privately though as their trade-in offers are not that generous. I was offered £2700 as trade-in but sold privately for £3750!

The other dealer I visited only offered me £2200

Cool

I ordered my car, actually it is the wifes Xmas present , in mid December and it arrives on March 20th. I wasn't too fussed about the wait as it gets the worst of winter out of the way It really does appear to be linked to the area of the country you are in and the demand for specific model types. Of course dealers could be over ordering on the basis that they will sell the cars anyway, but who would suggest that to them

I am fortunate enough to be buying the car for cash but if I needed to do a trade-in wouldn't hold out much hope for a decent price. The dealers know they can sell the car regardless and will try to screw you down as far as possible given there is no pressure on them to meet sales quotas because of the current waiting lists. I would also be surprised if they did any favours on finance deals as they can make silly money on these as well

One idea would be to decide what you want and send the spec to a few dealers. If they have a cancellation they could call you, you may jump the queue a liitle this way

Regards

I ordered a MINI One on 25th January. I've been told it's a March build car. I was told that there are definitely no stock cars with Xenons. Am assuming then it will be an early April delivery. I must phone and get a more accurate date

I checked on the wait time for a Indi Blue Cooper today with my local dealer (Chandlers of Rustington). They said if I ordered today they'd get it for the end of March. As I'm leasing one I shopped around - got a better quote from Hertz Vehicle Leasing. However the dealer did offer me a 3% discount from the list price! ;-) Hertz also are managing to get me the car I want for March 3rd (I'm going to place my order tomorrow).

It's very exciting!
