| MINI Traitor | For anyone interested, I just thought I'd post some pictures of a cheap and quick DV camera mount I made up last night. It's just some light grade aluminium with some double sided tape!! The angles took a while to get right, though. Initial results appear promising. ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | Actually, the whole interior cover for the A-pillar blows off when the side sausage head airbag deploys, and is teathered by a couple of straps. The straps have been designed to hold just the cover. There are warnings not to install guage pods in these locations, so I would imagine that your mount could potentially be dangerous in a collision. I think the straps are probably pretty strong, but the interior trim would blow off at, say, a hundred miles an hour, and the double-sided tape won't exactly be enough to hold the camcorder. Probably only a concern if you leave the mount in place all the time, and ride with passengers. But officially, it would be seen as dangerous. Chilli Red/White Cooper S, Sport Pack & Sunroof. Offline | I'm thinking of making one up that fits over the grille in the rear parcel shelf of the S. I think I can pass several bolts through the slats without cutting anything and make a raised up mount on top. That way the camera can look straight out over the driver's shoulder. It's only an idea at the moment, but when the weather gets better and I start signing up for track days, that's going to be a priority. |

Offline | You may want to look at this product from Manfroto (known as Bogen in the US): http://www.manfrotto.com/products/me...ontatore=primo It's a suction-cup mount. They have a similar model (that I can't find on their site today) that has an arm that braces against the floor to prevent vibration. Cost is about $99 USD for that one, and about $65 for the model in the link. The one with the floor brace comes with a camera mount. Expensive, yes, but all their stuff works together as a system. You can buy some add-ons later, and they'll all tie together. Chip H. ex-MINI Cooper S owner and all around good-guy |
