Hey guys,
just wanted to get your opinions on whether the 2014 cooper D was the worth the money!
With mine, i defo think it is. I spent 22.5k, it was originally just over 16k but with all the features it took it up to 22.5k.
The media pack::
This pack is UNBELIEVABLE! The sound system rocks out the car with the rocking bass. The design of the speakers look fab aswell. So I would say 10/10 for this pack
The Mini Excitement Pack::
again I would say 10/10. The elements of this makes the car more fun to drive - whats the point in driving in something when you dont enjoy it? ..literally, it has a dial around the screen for almost everything - volume, acceleration, air con etc. So I would say money well spent on this
Features:
Another good part of the mini is the large screen in the middle. On the retro style minis, that is where the speed dial and bits used to go (personally I thought that was not good). This moves the speed dial along with the instrument panel behind my sports steering wheel. Along with this move (from the retro minis to this one), the fuel gage is a problem to me - now it is 8 lights that act as the fuel gage, I keep close tabs on where I am with fuel and this makes it hard to determine where my fuel level lies (ie. you CANNOT predict when the light will turn off). Also, I am a big fella and because i got the sports steering wheel, I cannot see the entire speed dial, so luckily, the instrument panel can display a digital speedo, and this is what I use so thank you MINI for this!! heated seats, not alot to say other than I find these heavenly during cold weather.. and the short cut buttons (ie. max air con button to immediately switch to the fans max strength and the lowest temp). There is more that I missed but dont want to ramble on. Also the lights when you switch to different driving modes, I just find incredible, this just makes the whole interior look fab when driving at night (red for sport, white for mid and green for green). Overall, the features I will give a 7/10.
Acceleration:
The acceleration on the car is fab! especially in sport mode, I have always wanted a car that throws me back when accelerating. This gives me a big thrill. So 10/10 here
Driving modes::
Sport mode - as said above, lovely acceleration while in this mode. As said aswell, interior lights go to red which is a fab interier look. Also, really good fuel economy on this mode. As for the feel, it really is a go kart feel, that I can feel no doubt and I love it!!!!
Mid Mode - dont use this very often, it is either sport or green for me. the only time I go on this is when I am doing only 5-10 min journeys. The acceleration is still tremendious and better fuel savings!
As for green mode - does exactly what it says on the tin. saves fuel and CO2 emissions. Not good acceleration but that is expected from the driving mode, however doesnt save as much fuel as expected but still a reasonable amount. So not alot to say about this driving mode other than it does what it needs to do
Overall, I give driving moes a smacking 10/10
Fuel economy::
as said above, Green mode doesnt save as much fuel as expected. I am getting 55mpg with just over 3000 miles on the clock, and travelling on a typical week day, a 40 min round trip down the m4/5 at 75mph. This is dissappointing to be honest!
this gets a 5/10
So I think, YES THIS CAR IS WORTH THE MONEY ESPECIALLY FOR THE THRILL AND EXPERIENCE!! ..and a little fuel saving.
I could ramble on all day, but please post your thoughts and opinions on this car below:
Thanks for reading guys!
