Offline | More toys? Hi all - just ordered my Cooper S today, and just found this list - cool forum! I've gone with what I can afford (which is a very nice car!) but I'm a bit nervous I've missed out something super-cool, and must-have, which I could add now, but in a few days it will be too late. This is the current spec: Cooper S, solid black, anthracite, chili pack, 17" S-spokes, visibility pack, H/K w/MD player, lapis leather Obvious missing things: heated seats, DCS, tinted windows(and sat nav, but there's no way I could justify that) Anything else you'd recommend? Cheers, Nutts |

Offline | Re: More toys? mfsw! i threw it into the mix more or less on a whim - figured the stereo controls would be nice. turns out not only are they very nice indeed, the cruise control (which almost made me not get this option - cruise control in a MINI?) has proven a very effective aid in keeping the speed limits when you know you should but might not be able to. ![]() that's because the sat nav can't be justified. it looks awful, for one thing, and you don't get the center speedo. and you get to pay $1600 for the privilege. ...and if you miss a turn, hey you get to motor some more. ![]() cooper s '05 x brg/white/chrome, cordoba/anthracite/chrome, flik wasp 17x7 x delivered july 26th 2005 cooper '02 replaced x brg/white, R83 white, chrome, cordoba x built june 21st, arrived july 15th on the traviata, delivered july 26th 2002 |

Offline | I'm considering an S at the moment and my spec would be very similar to yours. Only thing i'd suggest for a mere £40 is the heated washer jets and mirrors, I left these off my ONE and regretted it. I find the CD Boost provides excellent sound quality so probably wouldn't have H/K (if I heard it I'd probably change my mind!). I'd not considered the MFSW, I didn't realise it came with cruise control Also I believe the CD changer prep is free but has to be ordered. Just in case you want a changer later. And don't forget TLC (obvious I know but in all the excitement easy to forget). How long before you get it anyway? |

Offline | MFSW finger tip control of yer audio plus cruise control. HEATED SEATS a must as these heat all the seat area. We have both and now wouldn't be without them. dinger ![]() |

Offline | Welcome Nutts Definitely get the MFSW. And the sunroof maybe? DSC is good as a safety feature - and you always have the option of turning it off. 260909 ![]() |

Offline | And another. The only large failing on the MINI head units, is the MINIscule volume knob. The MFSW solves this very well. There are no real must-haves beyond the Basic one, but there's a whole lot to want. I wish MD had become popular here in the states. |

Offline | Thats so similar to my order it's scary. Black/Black, Chilli pack, CD/Boost, Tinted Windows, Heated jets and mirrors, Vis pack. and I think I will add the MFSW after being on here since I ordered. One thing though don't let them talk you round on the colour, I've been having doubts but am back to the black again now. |

Offline | Thanks all for the welcoming messages and informative replies! Seems like I'm going to have to go for the MFSW, even though I'm not planning too much cruising - I guess the resale potential will be slightly greater. A couple of particular replies: craigb - the CD/Boost sounded fine, it's just music on the move is about as important to me as driving itself, so I want to go for the best I can get - within reason. I get it in... July, they said, although it's not confirmed yet - so I wouldn't be surprised to be told August ![]() Bullett - nah, I'm not going to be talked around. My dad bought one of the original Minis within the first few weeks of them appearing; it was jet black, and there are pics of my brother, 18 months old, propped in the driving seat 'pretending' to drive. My dad died... jeez, a couple of years ago now, so this is partly for him. Cheers again all, Nutts |

Offline | Somebody tell me that by ordering the MFSW (about £140 if I remember rightly) you don't automatically get cruise control? I thought that it only had the volume controls for the stereo and that cruise control was another option? I will be v. peeved if I missed out on this!!! Cheers. |

| MINI2 Irritant | Yes I believe it does come with cruise - but the upgrade cost is £240. Not £160. As you have to upgrade to leather steeringwheel £80 - then Add the MFSW xtra for £160 so total cost is £260. Yes it comes with crusie option. I personally went for Just leather Steeing wheel, as I have had crusie on my previous BMWs and thought it a complete waste of time. The Volume controls are handy but certainly not worth the extra cost. In my opinion. |

Offline | Nice one! I thought the MFSW was £160 as well, bit of a con adding the leather on top. Still its only another £80 which out of £16k odd is not worth the bother. The initial reason I din't go for MFSW was because I didn't need the cruise control but everyone does seem to recomend it. |

Offline | To ease the pain of not ordering the MFSW, my dealer has just rang to give me the excellent news that my Cooper has just arrived with them and will definitely be ready for March 1st!! The question is: Can I now resist the temptation to drive 30 miles to the dealer to have a look at her?!!! |
