Offline | Thats odd or is it? Has anyone else noticed when you close the rear hatch with the wipers on it automatically does a handfull of sweeps like when you fitst turn the wipers on? I closed the hatch several times (whilst standing in the rain getting wet) thinking thats cool or is my wiring faulty. I suppose if your hatch is up it will be soaked and thats the idea. It really is the little things that make you smile, small things amuse etc... Shaun |

Offline | Think that's normal and nothing to do with whether the hatch has been opened or not. The rear wiper always sweep a few times before going onto intermittent mode. Red/Black R56 Cooper |

Offline | My guess would be that the boot open sensor acts as an extra switch in the circuit. When the boot is opened the wipers are turned off and when it gets closed turned back on again, just like using the column stalk switch. Hence the 4 sweeps. |

Offline | My hatch never opened on the key it just kind of clunked patheticaly and dislogded itself a bit. I now have the button set to comfort opening at least that works. I think the rear wiper thing is a quirky little feature and have not seen any mention of it here on the forum but someone must of thought it was a good idea? Shaun |
