My wife's Mini blew out it's tranny a few weeks ago. We want to take this opportunity to go all electric on our next vehicle, so we're looking to sell her Mini "as is". It's a 2004, 104K miles, body and interior in good shape, tires only 6 months old. We're trying to get an idea of what it's worth before we put up an ad somewhere. Obviously it would need a new tranny (and one assumes a new clutch as well). Anyone out there have an opinion of what it's worth?

You've not given enough details of the car to give you a value, but I would say the value of the car if it was running less the cost of repair is a realistic price to expect someone to pay. If that's too low then the reality is you have a pile of parts for sale.

Sorry, but theres lots of minis for sale so yours will need to appeal so someone with the skills to fix it. All the good points are overshadowed by the big bad one...it doesn't work and can't be used.

Does to a great degree depend on what sort it is too, a Cooper S is generally considered as more desirable to a youngster looking for a car to fix more than a Mini ONE base in the same state with no extras which would be considered not worth much at all by comparison.
