Offline | Union Jack on the roof by mistake Went to pick our new Cooper on Saturday only to find they'd stuck a Union Jack on the roof!Something we'd never requested. We had it removed only to get home and discover deep scratches on the roof. Gutted. It's going back to be fixed but apart from that the car and dealer were great and haven't stopped smiling all weekend! |

Offline | ** I agree 100% ** My dealer said the bonnet stripes are already on the car when it's shipped over but the Union Jack that I want will be applied at the dealership ! He said that way it doesn't get damaged in shipping! and he added that they would charge the going rate for the labor to apply it. I believe him! Obviously your roof was damaged in shipping and they wanted to cover it up! |

| MINI2 Senior | Just FYI - does everyone realize that dealers regularly repair blemishes that occur on cars in transit? The Vehicle Prep Centers exist at ports of entry overseas to take care of anything that happened while in transit. The VPCs contain body shops, all sort of spare wheels and parts, and those dent repair stations. All sorts of things happen in transit, especially when there is an ocean voyages to boot. I can't imagine a dealer going through the trouble of putting a the decal on the roof to cover a scratch that the body shop could take care of in less time. I can imagine one going on by mistake, and someone scratching a roof being a little to careless when taking it back off. Peace, Dave Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back? '03 MCS BRG/W Anthracite Pkg 1,2,3 |

Offline | The marks were definitely done when either fitting or removing the roof because the lines are in the shape of the union jack segments. The dealer came to collect the car from our house this morning so let's hope that they come back with good news!! What worries us is that with the roof being some sort of vinyl (anybody know exactly what the material is?) the marks are actually cuts and not just scratches! |
