I have recently noted a surge in my number of MINI sightings. Where it used to be about one every couple of weeks, it now seems to be at least one a day. There are at least four others in my town of 30,000 or so. My folks down in SF report seeing at least a couple a day now. I was just curious how many are others in the US seeing these days?
just at work (8500 people) there were 3 of us... now all of the sudden there are 6 or 7 of us.
around my town there were maybe 5 but you only saw one once even week or 2. Now I know of at least 10 and 3 days a week I see one on my way to work... and not always the same one...
Trust not the heart of a man for whom old clothes, and the Mini, are not venerable!
Yeah I have noticed this too in OC/Socal. The other day I saw two CR/W Coopers an all black Cooper a Dark silver S w/ a black roof and a velvet red w/ a white roof. I have also noticed none of these MINI owners wave smile or winks their headlights at other MINI's either *pouts*
Heading down I-95 in Jersey this morning, looked in the rear-view and saw a PS/B MC coming up from behind...this same side of the road, same direction encounter was a first for me. I slowed to allow them to catch me and we traded enthusiastic waves and thumbs up before continuing our journey...cool moment.
I really wished people were more friendly around here... I have waved at a few MINI owners and have gotten no response and felt like an ass so I quit doing it..
I have also seen more sightings in socal. Probably one a day now.
digitalpussi - I think I have seen you a few times. I live in Aliso Viejo. Just a stones throw away. I will keep a look out for you. I will be in the MCS BRG/B (with an aero kit by the end of the work week). As far as waves or any form of contact, I am getting about 75% responce. Like my wife says...some people in socal just have their head too far up their *****. So don't quit spreading the joy...then they win.
Nice to see someone from the OC area who is just around the corner so to speak Hmm I haven't seen a BRG/B MCS yet, hopefully I will see you around. You can usually see my CR/W MC parked at the Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna Beach on the weekdays except Monday..hehe
Anyhoo, I have to agree with your wife, but I would like to add I get a snob vibe from some of the other MINI owners I suppose it is the socal mentality. So I am going to keep on waving, winking, whatever even if others don't choose to do it back. I will be looking out for ya, nice to know that there is another friendly MINI owner around
Ya I notice the increase too!! I'm upset... (well just a little) I wanted us to be a little more unique and no see one every single day... I use to see like 1 every week or so now its literally 1 a day sometimes 2 or 3!!!
Speaking at the west coast Canada here (sorry not a US place hope you don't mind ), I saw many more MINIs on the road starting this year, prob. due to the fact that now we finally have automatic available this year which attracts more buyers. Last night during my 2-hr dinner I've already seen 3 different MINIs. Anyway the more I see MINIs on the street the more aftermarket bits I want to put on my car to make it look different from them
glad to hear you are not giving up on the Mini community due to a few jack a$$es. Just this morning a MCS EB/W (I think) was going the opposite way at a stop light on Jeronimo & Cherry and did not respond to my wave. Oh well...some people just don't get it. But I will still do my part.
