Thanks for the welcome, I'm in the market for a 2007 mini cooper can someone explain to me what to look for when buying and the pitfalls of these cars, I hear gearboxes are an issue is this true? How bad thanks
The problematic transmissions were in the 1st Gen MINI. The Midlands manual transmission in Cooper and One models built through June 2004. The CVT automatic transmission in Cooper and One models, Hatchbacks built through November 2006 and Convertibles built through July 2008.
A 2007 Hatchback would be a 2nd Gen MINI where Getrag manual or Aisin automatic transmissions were fitted.
If you're considering a 2nd Gen Cooper S model, you want to avoid those with the N14 engine.
Hi thanks for your reply it's just a cooper I'm looking not an S would standard coopers have this N14 engine? If so why avoid? And how can I tell if it's a N14 or N18 tia
Thanks cave man so 2nd Gen mini cooper don't give much issues? Getrag boxes reliable? Any else to watch out for?
