Fellow Miniers

I have this dilema if I should buy the MINI Alarm or not.The dealer quoted me for the parts & install $500.

My wife is hesitant to do it since it got the "Immobilizer" already.She does not want me to spend extra money & instead use the money on gas or for future expenses on the car.

Any input is appreciated.

Don't know about how insurance works in the States, but when I called my company for a quote, they said the alarm wouldn't make a difference to my premium as the car already had an immobiliser!

Who was I to argue!!!

Now I've modded my MINI and it looks a bit more 'street', the alarm will be the first thing going on there.

After the polished & gas-flowed heads.

D'Oh!!!!!

Seriously, it's down to personal choice; the immob is designed to stop the car from being stolen; the alarm is a deterrent and early-warning system.

Personally? I'd say get it. It's one of those things that could well prove worth its weight in gold. And you never know....!
