| www.minicoopers.org | the hat with the pins is our student fraternity hat.. we're all ex-students, but our order keeps us together ( ordre de Saint Patrick) http://www.calotte.be/lecture.htm is the official site, but only in French ( as all medieval orders spoke french) brief explanation: you see how many years one spend in college with the stars on his hat, you see what college he attended, see where he was visiting, what other frats he is friend with.. etc etc. it's also a sign of a lot of students that did their student initioation back in freshman year ( imagine a 2,5 month drill, psychological and beer drinking) other than that we sing a lot, drink a lot, and no women are allowed.. our recordholder is a liter of freshly tapped Beer in 4.2 seconds - no spilling allowed my personal record is 12,3 s. it's a fun thing and you may see some of us in brussels at the Manneken Pis when we put a barrel on beer on the little guy and then Beer comes out of the fountain .. always on 6th of march for example.. we do all kind of weird stuff as long as it involves fun, songs and beer.. ![]() |

Offline | Wow, great pictures. It breaks my heart, I miss it. I love and know County Clare quite well, and I recognize that road in the 2nd picture! Its a great MINI driving road, alright... constant switchbacks and twists as you head down the hill, leading to Ballyvaughan! I'm glad you had a good time, I cant wait til my next trip over! I've got friends that live in Fanore and Ballyvaughan. Maybe next year. Cheers, MWB 02 Cooper Silk Green/white roof. |

Offline | LOL, thats actually kind of a scary road to be on in a coach! I was over there about 5 years ago for a wedding, and the rehearsal dinner was in Ballyvaughan. They invited all of the guests from the US (65 of us) to the rehearsal dinner, so they hired a couple of coaches to drive us from Lahinch to Ballyvaughan... over that road! yikes! Its better suited to a MINI! I think that a MINI tour company would be awesome! Imagine, arriving in Ireland, picking up your renta-MINI, and driving around Ireland, with stays at beautiful country houses, and cottages! or a MINI world tour company.. with the same thing of course in the UK, Europe, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand. that would be great, then we could go anywhere in the world, and still have our MINIS! 02 Cooper Silk Green/white roof. |
