Advice - Luggage Cover

I want to be able to carry my mountain bike when my MCS arrives (5 weeks 2 days - not that I'm counting!!), and like many others am reluctant to have the holes drilled in the roof for the approved system. Having read in other discussions that it is just about possible to get a mountain bike in the back of the MINI with the seats down, has anybody bought the Luggage compartment cover (page 55 in the accessories book) to protect the interior??

The picture in the accessories book looks like it will keep the muck off the seats, but the description says "An easy-to-use cover designed to protect the entire boot from prying eyes" which doesn't tell you whether it is heavy duty material or not....

Anybody bought or seen this cover and have any views on whether it will be suitable for this purpose??

Maybe find a decent bike rack that attaches to the back...or I've heard of a MINI trailer hitch. With a hitch you can use a bike rack that connects directly to the trailer hitch.

Personally, I wouldn't put my mountain bike in the back of my MINI. But if you don't have an option there's nothing else you can do.
