| Ok, if we do find his e-mail address, we should put all of our complaints together and make a well organized argument out of them. -Andrew |

Offline | Argh, that is one of the worst reviews I have ever read, and not becase he slags off my car. Inaccurate and plainly made up in alot of places, it was more akin to a review of a washing machine than a car. I noticed the % score of performance was explained at the bottom eg faster than 5s = 100% slower than 16s = 0% He clearly has no idea that a car is a subjective experience you cannot make a car choice on a purely scientific basis, especially one like a MINI. I guess he is one of those people who thinks a car is just something to go from a to b. |

| MINI2 Master | If you read a bunch of his reviews you'll see that he rates almost all cars to be almost exactly the same in final percentage. There are a few cars that he likes but almost all get between 60 and 70 percent. Toyota ECHO 69%, Saab 9-5 68%, Acura RSX 69%, Toyota Camry 71%, Subaru Impreza 70%, Chevrolet Corvette 65%, PT Cruiser 72%, Audi TT 68%, BMW 3-series 68%, etc. Yay, the MINI Cooper beats the Corvette, who would'a thunk it? He compares Corvettes and Camrys using the same standard which doesn't make any sense; one is a sports car, the other is a mid-sized sedan so you can't compare trunk sizes and 0-60 performance of the two. And if you read the pros and cons of a few you'll see that he is a broken record. Pros: power of highest engine available, gas mileage of lowest engine available, handling of sport suspension. Cons: power of lowest engine available, harsh ride of sports suspension. No low engine has enough power for him, not one. Same with many automatics vs. sticks. He doesn't seem to understand trade-offs either like power vs. mileage and handling vs. ride comfort. He says the base Cooper has perfectible brakes but the S has brakes which are fine? They're the same! Harry MINI Cooper Cabrio: now the car with go cart handling really feels like an open go cart! Offline | The review, drafted by a second-rate hack who clearly has never laid eyes let alone hands on the car, was not worth reading. Poor research. D- Shoulda known. MSN was the tip-off. |

Offline | How are you all reading it..? Are you logging in to MSN just to read this..? That's what they want you know - drives up their ad revenue..! Sounds to me like this guy writes his car reviews from the spec sheet, not from actaully driving..! |

Sincerely, Sheryl MSN Autos Customer Support --- Original Message --- From: To: carcomm@css.one.microsoft.com Sent: Wed Apr 2 07:50:29 PST 2003 Subject: 2003 Mini Cooper Review In regards to the review of the 2003 Mini Cooper S. Having read your car review there, you have many facts that are totally incorrect, and is showing a very poor job it the passing of real facts. The Article ( http://autos.msn.com/vip/heraudover....=10641&src=vip <http://autos.msn.com/vip/heraudover....=10641&src=vip> ) has incorrect performance figures and Incorrect Car Specifications. The first most obvious error is the specifications of the Mini Cooper S. The S has a 6 speed transmission, not a 5 speed as stated. This is easily confirmable as the Mini USA website states this, and the shifter in my 2003 happens to have 6 speeds as well. The second incorrect figure is the 1/4 mile time is incorrectly stated by about 1 second. this can easily be confirmed by looking at the mini web site, or by the time slips that I have from the drag strip. If this is the time that your "Automotive Editor" ran, then it is obvious he does not know enough about cars to be considered an expert. I hope that you realize your incorrectness, and update this article to include real facts, not the Bias of MSN Thanks Dan Pilo Racing www.piloracing.com Intakes, Ignitions, Heads, Superchargers and more... stop on in |

Offline | There were way many more inaccuracies on that poorly done review. Anyway this is a great start, ThePilo. Now let's all get together and send MSN Autos a ton of E-mails to force them as well as and Mr. Heraud to correct the contents of this **** poor review made on the MINI.
