Online | I was going to say 'but officer, the manual says to vary your speed during the break-in period'. Driving 90 is one thing, but pictures while driving? I hope you had a copilot take the picture! ![]() |

Offline | Very stable. Solid. No lift off or drift. It has to be done in 5th gear as 6th loses power and drags. I don't have a clue about the rpms because I was concentrating on other things. The motor is seriously humming at this speed. Engine noise is up there, wind rush isn't bad at all. I drove a 40 mile or so run in Northern Maine last Fall where I kept it over 100 the entire time and got it up to 135 often. Very nice ride. Early morning, almost completely deserted road (just a few 22 wheelers), lots of cold air for the engine. Cruising at 110-120 is great in this car. I would NEVER do this in a populated or busy area. This was definately a well planned event to see what the car could do. Missing my buddies Dan and Ed but glad I have two angel buddies , And on a quest to Right Secco's Wrongs |

Offline | Or 143 Why do people start to try and split hairs anyway? If the car was taken up to where the speed limiter kicks in who gives a F*** about 10% variances and whether one car will do 140 or 135. Anything over 100 is no man's land anyway. I've driven vehicles at 95 mph (like my brother's old beat to crap '62 6 cylinder Chevy Biscayne!) that were a far more hairy ride than the MCS at 135. So one car being lame over another at these speeds is a moot point. Vespa, I didn't mean to steal your thread. Like I said, I just love those speedo action pics. and got all excited and felt the need to jump in. Hey, L8Apex , don't you have a MCS?
