MINI2

I've been reading the posts here for a few days and decided that since I have a good chance of buying a Mini Cooper S soon, I might as well say "Hi!"

I am currently a proud owner of a 1993 Toyota MR2 (NA, US Spec). I hope to be able to keep my MR2, but I need something with 4 seats and prefer something brand new. The MR2 is an incredible handling vehicle and the new Cooper S is about the only new car that seems to deliver the same kind of tossability and fun as my MR2 (and it's also a bit quicker in a straight line than my car).

With that in mind, depending on how the next couple weeks go, I'll either be buying a Mini at the local Ferman Mini dealer (Tampa, FL), or ordering one (and having to wait 6 months

)

If I do decide to go with ordering a Mini, I'm still not sure what color scheme to go with, so I'll probably post some questions as I try to make my purchase.

So far:

Cooper S
Premium Package

Color Either:
Dark Silver/Black
Light Silver/Black
Indi Blue/Black
all with hood stripes

Sat Nav (Purely because I don't want all my passengers telling me how much I'm speeding if the speedo was in the center of the car

)

Rain Sensing Wipers/ Auto Dimming Mirror.

Colour choice is a bit difficult as they are all good .
Personally I went for BRG / WHITE , and love it .

Seriously thinking about upgrading from my Cooper ( 7000 miles on the clock now ) to an ' S ' , and if I do , will go for Indi Blue .

Dont know what your ' Premium Pack ' covers but probably the same as the ' Chili Pack ' I got , which has most of the standard extra's .

I Spec'd the Panoramic sun roof as I prefer Fresh air to Air Con , Ok it's shut through the winter , but open all other month's .

The only advise I can give is , go to your dealer and test drive every model they have .
Test all the option's before you order .

But anyway you are righ't when you say that the ' S ' is as fun as your MR2 , and ' MUCH MORE ' !!!.

Oh yes, I forgot, most countries have different "packages".

The standard "Premium" package comes with the Sunroof, MFSW, On-Board Computer, and Automatic A/C. I think that's all of it.

I know I have to have a Sunroof. My MR2 is a very rare hardtop, and I've always been jealous of the T-top/T-bar owners in some ways

Welcome to MINI2, Once you get your mini you will find that mini culture gets into your blood.

...so colour's out, but we can still talk about the other options. like sat nav. to me a worthless piece of kit that completely destroys the dash, and you're getting it to be nice to your friends? a $1600 option? you're a Nice Guy (TM). hey, wanna be my friend?

Well, is the sat nav really that worthless?

I just don't know if I can get used to looking to the right to see the speedo all the time. I have taken 2 test drives in the MCS and I don't like looking over to the right to see the speed. I'd prefer it right in front of me

give it two more test rides and you'll be used to it, i wouldn't worry about that at all. and hey don't take my prejudice against the sat nav too seriously, if you want it get it, by all means. just happens that i find the centre speedo one of the cooler things about the car.

and remember when you make a "wrong" turn, you get to motor a little more!

I've seem to find that Indi Blue isn't that popular...why I don't know..I think it is a sharp color!!
If I were you I'd go with Indi Blue...
