"Cooper" verses "S" episode

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum.

At the traffic light, my spouse declared "a Cooper S is behind us". (Proves a total lack of knowledge about automobiles). In my side mirror, I could clearly see a Cooper. Says I, "That's a Cooper, silly".

The response was, "It's got a scoop". I look again and said, "That is the grill, not a scoop". (Doesn't seem to know something from a hole in the ground".)

Low and behold, the Cooper pulls along side, while the "S" could still be clearly seen in the rear view mirror.

Too many MINI's around here.

Please help. Do I need to apologize to my spouse?

Your Lucky !.

My spouse wouldn't have recognised it as a ' MINI ' !! .

She would of course recognise a ' MARKS and SPENCER ' sign from three miles away !! .

Just a shame that it's the Cooper that has to sleep in the garage !! .

She's lovely really , bless her ( The WIFE !! ).

I'd say you're on a nothing to one. Two choices, either balance the books or never mention it again and hope for the best.

ALWAYS apologize to your spouse, especially when it comes to "MINI, or Mini" items that you want to continue spending money on!

'02 MINI Cooper CVT(6/12/02; Indi Blue/Black, R-81 7-hole 15x5.5" or NZO 16x6.5")

You must definitely apologise. If you can't see you were in the wrong then there is no hope for you!

Very similar problem on the M6 last weekend. Little yellow one decided to get a good look at my clubman barn doors. Problem was I'm still breaking her in and couldn't drop a cog

My daughter (she's nearly 8 now) could tell the difference between Mini One / Cooper & S when she was 4, plus she could tell the difference between the 1st Gen and 2nd Gen models at 7.

(Unfortunately when she was 5 she did have a habit of saying, "oh it's only a Mini One", but I helped her appreciate that not everyone can either wants (or needs) an "S" and model of Mini should be respected as they are all part of the family and I think she's fine with the concept now, but even badgeless she could tell the difference between a Cooper and an S

I like the way you've trained her! Excellent work. Impressed she can tell the difference at 4! If I had a daughter/son she/he would be exactly the same! You must be very proud! xx

Haha, that's fantastic! Your daughter has a very bright future, no doubt.

As for the original poster? I would say you must be a lucky man as well, having a wife who can tell the difference between a MINI and tram. I wonder what it feels like
