YAY Clear Bra installed!

Yes!! No more paint chips... now i'm not afraid to drive the MINI anymore just got the clearbra installed today and its fantastic can hardly see it... I've never seen it in person on a car before today, until mine. I just trusted it and went for it. I'm happy.

Wow! Nice job! I can barely tell that its there. Where did you have it done and how much?

Were you happy with the installation?

Cool! Isn't it nice to not have to worry about chips (well, for the most part)? Looks like a good install too.

Care to tell us what a "good deal" cost? I'm thinking about having mine done, and local prices seem to be about $400.

Gotten anything useful from MINI2? How about giving a little something back?

The price of a kit and installation is $600-800 here in Northern California.

You really can't compare pricing from one region to another because labor rates differ ... as illustrated by this thread:

I'm assuming that this is the X-Pel version and not the one Mini (OEM) offers?

Does it cover both the bumper and the bonnet?

It was one of the better deals that i got quoted for here in LA $159 for the hood + mirrors, $139 for the bumper and $54 for the headlamps. and $180 for installation and because i mentioned that i was a MINI2 forum member they gave 10% discount on everything including installation not just the parts. So it was a good deal! Oh I also said that i wanted to have the door edges X-Peled cuz when parked in the garage its really easy to bang the door against my dads car so they threw that in for free...

Looks good, I've always wanted something to prevent those pesky stone chips. I didn't like the look of the black bra though. The clear bra is much better.

How does it come off BTW?

Heat it and peel it off, then clean off any left over adhesive.

What happens about waxing the car once you fit one of these..??
I want to prevent stone chips if I can, but I want to be able to get a great shine (Zaino). Can it be applied over a previously waxed car..? Do you wax over it, or doesn't it need it..?
(Sorry if these q's have been asked before)

Wax or polish can be applied on this clear urethane. You just need to take a little care around the edges to prevent build-up.

I'd recommend stripping old wax before fitting a clear bra.
