Question MINI horn

Is it just me, or is the MINI horn not just one huge disappointment? I mean really!!! Seems like MINI could have come up with something distinctive, not just some normal average everyday honk sound.

Good grief, give the little guy a voice with some character!

If WInnie the Pooh had a driver's license, I bet he'd drive a MINI.

My current cinquecento has a pretty good honk. Sounds like the roadrunner. "Meep Meep!"

If you want the ultimate get out of the way horn that will even move SUVs.

Get a train horn intalled. I'm sure it is not legal.
Nice at times to have.

BRG/W MCS bonnet stripes ,white wheels, sport package, sunroof, heated seats, Alta pulley, Alta intake

I like the stock horn. Sounds like a big American car and not like a tiny winnie Asian car in traffic.

Do you want your horn to sound like a Train locomotive or a cargo ship?

It seems to me some of you need to get in touch with Kenworth or Peter Built for an aftermarket air horn install.

I think it sounds like every other car... really is there a difference between the sound of a horn?

Actually I think so. I have a nice set of 3 trumpet air horns which have a pretty snooty kind of get out of my way sound. I would love to mount them but can't see any place for them where they won't get melted.

I guess like almost everything in life - chaque a son gout (not sure about the spelling)

We were talking this over this weekend.

Think the North American market has a different horn compared to the European market

I love the sound my horn makes. It sounds urgent and commands attention.

YFor GordonD u could mount yer horns on roof centre just aft of windscreen?

If i didn't think the blast of air woudld slow me down i would.

On a more serious note I think the thread started as a genuine question on where one could locate air horns (if one wanted air horns)and degenerated into a laugh line. I admit guilt but i happen to like decent horns and safe driving courses that I have attended emphasize the value of using your horn.

E.G. If you are alongside an 18 wheeler who decides to change lanes into one that you happen to occupy you will treasure the ability to honk loundly enough to be heard over his Peterbilt and Country Music.

MINIs are small and quick and can get into a blind spot - especially in high speed heavy traffic freeway situations
