Delighted with my new Mini Cooper s five door, but disappointed with satnav. No road speed, cameras, live services etc. I have TomTom app on my iPhone. Is there a way of a. Getting sound through mini speakers b. Getting TomTom map directions onto mini screen?
Alternatively, has anyone had the Apple system fitted retrospectively, and if so, with what results?
Finally, have downloaded mini connect app. Not quite sure what it's for!!!!!!!
I don't think you would be able to get the image on the MINI display screen, if you could it would involve video cables into it, not as easy as just displaying it.
Connect your phone to the Bluetooth on the car. I use the Maps application on my iPhone , at the bottom of the phone screen when you have the route there is a speaker symbol, if you tap on this it will give you an option as to where you want the sound to come from, Phone and the other option is MIN followed by whatever the Bluetooth name is.
Thanks. I want to use it with TomTom app. but cannot get voice commands to work either through the iPhone itself or through the car system. Works perfectly in my Renault! So I guess I must be doing something wrong or not doing something I should be doing! Not even getting sound through the iPhone is particularly odd
What maps app are you using on your phone, is it the pre loaded one.? That what I use. When you have it giving you directions check the sound icon to see where it is saying the sounds need to come from. The Tom Tom will only be able to play over the car I guess if it has Bluetooth and can be connected to the car.
