The lurching problems were mostly present in the Cooper CVT models. I am not sure if you are also referring to the "yo-yoing" acceleration quality issues in the Cooper 'S' models. As for the CVT's, these issues have already been solved thanks to software update #32.1 released in early February. It appears to be that the MCS "Yo-yoing" will be fixed in software versions 33 or 33.1.

If you already have a MINI or are awaiting for the arrival of your car, you can call your dealership and find out (VIN serial number required) to see which version of the engine calibration software your car currently has. otherwise if your car hasn't been built yet, then rest assured it will have the latest and greatest software calibration from factory.

The car has been running fine since I got the update 2 months ago, but I still keep an eye on it. Sorry to hear the lurching is coming back in your CVT. I guess we all eventually will have to get the next update (33.1) as soon as it becomes available.

I think this is a bug with the adaptive programming settings in the CVT transmission and this has been the problem all along with the controlling software calibration in these cars.

I'll keep ya on the loop.

Hmmm, probably the lurching "bug" was never fixed in 32.1 but it did go away as soon as the adaptive settings were cleared from memory during the 32.1 update. For what I have read about the new 33.1 update, it should have code fixes to the adaptive settings section of the program.

Hang in there friend!

I think that as long as you don't go into Sport or Steptronic mode, the lurching never seems to come back. But as soon as you use either mode in the CVT, this seems to trigger the bug in the controlling software, thus causing the lurching symptoms to make a comeback in Normal mode.

Does this theory makes sense to you?

Oh boy!

Yes, I was referring to the "yo-yoing acceleration in the 'S' Models. I am not familiar with that problem. What exactly does the car do? Is version 33 and 33.1 available now. My MCS is being built this week.
Thanks for any and all replies.
